Talala

Just up the road, north of Oologah, on U.S. Highway 169 you will find the most laid back little community in Rogers County.  Talala, although not large, is progressive.  Like much of Rogers County, this community also has new people, bringing new ideas to Talala.

Talala has a rich history of oil and large cattle ranches.  Currently the community thrives on the oil and feed business.  With railroads, a major highway and being within easy commuting distance of Tulsa International Airport and Tulsa Port of Catoosa, this would be a great place for new industry.

Under the leadership of mayor Jerry Williams, Talala has:

  • Received a grant for a sewer that has, perhaps, made it the most prepared community in the county for growth.

  • Petitioned and was granted a long term lease from the Corp of Engineers for the Sunny Side Park, on Lake Oologah.  This park is only four miles from U.S. Highway 169 and the main street of Talala.

  • They have built a new City Hall and Community Center.

  • Talala also has a new computer company.
