Located just ten miles north of Claremore on Highway 66, Foyil, is one of the oldest towns in Oklahoma. This is the home of Andy Payne, who was the winner of the 3,400 mile "Great Transcontinental Footrace", in 1928. This is also the location of the "World's Largest Totem Pole". The Totem Pole attracts tourist from all over the world.

Foyil, like every other town in Rogers County, is growing rapidly. A prime location for growth and development. Just east of Foyil on Highway 28-A you will find, not only the World's Largest Totem Pole, but a golf course and beautiful rolling, green, wooded hills.
Oologah Lake is a great attraction in this area. It offers great fishing as well as boating and other water sports. The lake has many state parks and welcomes visitors.
Foyil's school system has produced some excellent students who have been recipients of scholarships from many colleges and universities. Students are fortunate to be within ten minutes of a Rogers State University which gives them an opportunity to attend college classes while they are completing their junior and senior year of high school. |
