Gateway to Rogers County and the World

Catoosa's beginnings are linked to its location at the end of the railroad. In 1882, streets were packed with cowboys and trail hands. Cattle pens stretched as far as the eye could see to the west. Catoosa's railhead turn-around served as a major beef supplier to points all over the eastern United States. Rail accessibility is still a major consideration to business and industry locating in the area.
Catoosa's present expanded location adjoins both Tulsa and Wagoner counties making Catoosa the gateway to Rogers county and has resulted in a growth rate of 62.5 percent since 1990. This growth increase has made Catoosa the fastest growing city in the region.

The 2,000 acre Port of Catoosa, located at Catoosa's northern edge, has operated since 1971 and is now the site of 50 companies employing 2700 people. Last year the port handled record shipments of 2.4 million tons through the 445 mile McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System and has given Catoosa its latest distinction as Gateway to the World through international shipping.
